The maneuver might have been similar. But the numbers are a pittance compared to the thousands encircled at Cannae. The only comparison I see in modern ties is the annihilation of the Nazi Army Group Center bu the Soviets in Operation Bagration. However, that was not a "battle" in the classic sense, it was an entire operation lasting many days. |
