Astonishingly good !!

Which printer do you use?

rustymusket24 May 2020 7:21 a.m. PST

Is is resin or fiber?

Caddis24 May 2020 7:35 a.m. PST

Where did you get the STL file for that one? It looks great.

For rusty musket that is definitely resin.

monk2002uk24 May 2020 7:39 a.m. PST

The model is printed with resin. The process is called Low Force Stereolithograpy (LFS) but it is essentially the same process used by the Elegoo Mars, Qidi Tech 5.5, and similar resin printers. My printer happens to be a FormLabs Form 3, which is more expensive.

The only thing I can take credit for is pressing the Print button, though I did arrange the figures and gun on the base using CAD software. Not in the same league as creating the figures and gun in the first place though…

The files came from Wargaming3D, which I scaled down to 6mm:

That was downscaled from 28mm? Nice! A lot of models will lose smaller bits that way. This stand came out great!

The proof is in the painting so what do painted examples look like

monk2002uk24 May 2020 11:03 p.m. PST

Yes, downscaled from 28mm. No loss of detail. The stand has an integrated ID marker – my only contribution to the model.

Painting is underway. Will post photos once done.
