I am in on the new F&IW Kickstarter by Brigade Games, and though I really only need some natives and probably Canadians for that conflict, I saw the King Phillips War add ons and wondered if there were any resources available for SP or even Muskets and Tomahawks for this interesting little conflict. I know its not 18th century but the similarity to later conflicts made me think this may be a good place to post

There is a very active and helpful King Philip's War Facebook group.

Definitely. Several of the guys are using Musket and Tomahawk. It is a fascinating and very bloody little war.

I am very slowly working on a rules agnostic scenario book of actual combats. One of the key factors if you are gaming it is that the Indians did not have backing from foreign powers. They had no intrinsic source of powder.

The new version of This Very Ground does have coverage to KPW.

Jlundberg, a scenario book would be a great thing.

So what was the primary weapon the NE Natives use? I forgot the Dutch were gone at this point.

Dantheman, I've done a fair bit of reading on the conflict. By 1675, the Indians were pretty well equipped with flintlocks, gotten from various sources. They were better equipped with them than the colonists were. The gunpowder shortage was a real issue however.

It was NOT a little war. It got so bad the English were seriously thinking of bailing out of New England. It was very ugly considering how both sides were very thin on the ground. If it were to be gamed, I would recommend skirmish rules.

Captain, the term was not meant disparagingly. In fact, I may end up using The Sword and the Flame to get the right feel.

I game it with 18mm Blue Moon figs though they dont have a specific range of it, you can use figs from other of their ranges and make do.
I use Pikeman's Lament as the rules set. It works quite well and we've had some wild games.
I also put on a few games at conventions and the players all seemed to have a good time.

A real good source of info is The Skulking Way of War. It goes into native tactics for KPW and how they were armed etc.
