Comments or corrections?

I've recently been frustrated in trying to find a decent reference for British divisional organisations and vehicle markings. It's not always easy to find this information online – discussions usually end up recommending the same handful of books that have been out of print for thirty years!

With this in mind I thought I'd try my hand at making my own, and I'm looking for feedback.

I've started with a late war armoured division as it seems the most widely-documented, so all information here should hopefully be correct.

If you spot any mistakes or anything missing, please let me know, or if you just have general feedback or comments, fire away!

Updated version based on feedback and additional sources:

Sources seem divided on whether or not there was an HQ unit for the RAOC, whether the RAOC sign should have a vertical or a horizontal stripe, and similarly which way the RASC colours are arranged.

There are also several references to a "Mobile Bath and Laundry Unit" under the RAOC, but this doesn't seem consistent, so I've left it out.

As I understant it, REME light aid detachments were given the number of the unit to which they were attached – at least in theory. 73 in this example means it was attached to the light AA regiment.

Yes I have the same problems, with the British. Any chance you might do BEF France 1939/1940. Thanks Barry

I can certainly try. I've got a couple of books on order, so fingers crossed!

Quite a lot of work and very nicely presented. Thanks for taking the time and sharing.

I've collated the useful information on the independent Armoured and Tank Brigades from the Flames of War website into a single diagram. I'm hoping to expand the diagram to include each brigade's service units, if I can track down the information.

Still a few gaps to fill in Early- and Mid-war – can anyone help?

These are absolutely fantastic! So helpful to have everything in one place.

I didn't know the Inf Bde in Armd Divs had an independent MG Coy in NWE. I don't have his books handy but I don't remember seeing that in Gary Kennedy's WE tables when I read them. Can I ask for a source on that point?

Many thanks for making my modelling life so much easier!

Apologies for the delay.

I've seen conflicting sources on the MG company, but have ultimately come down on the side of it being a divisional unit, not part of the Infantry brigade.

Anyway, I've made a few other changes based on new information, and given them a more permanent home, with sources.
