Without a good topic to wrtite about, i went with the old "what I have been up to" post.

I also give a first look at two GW contrast paints and the Proxxon Thermocut hot wire tool.

What new tools, techniques or paints have you all used lately?

Proxxie is my favorite tool, nothing beats it for cutting foam. I have been building plastic kits and painting lstrly so I'm afraid that I'm stuck with the old standbys; Xacto #11 and my collection of paintbrushes. I tried the Contrast paints too, like the colors on some, but they have limited uses in my world.

The only new thing lately for me is using duct tape instead of superglue to attach some things inside scratchbuilt vehicles. (I'll post pictures of the process when the vehicles are finished.)

Ditto on limited use for contrast paints Anton. I may use them for an initial base coat but everything thereafter (including touch ups) are done with the "normal" paints.

There are definite limits for there use. High contrast stuff or deep folds are the best, if not only, real uses for the contrast paints. In certain situations they are pretty cool.
