My latest blog post. It seems I have an abundance of models of Wellington in my collection. Are you drawn to personality models?

Got to have a few- and most rules oblige you by requiring them. I have a Brickdust Wellington that I like- in field marshal's dress, feathers and all. I mounted him with figures painted to resemble Sir George Murray (silver braid) and Fitzroy Somerset (lt col of the 43rd with white facings). More like a review than a battlefield, but fun to paint.

I have a figure of Napoleon with his arms folded and his feet on a drum, waiting to be turned into a miniature of the famous Verezhagin painting.

You only need 2 Wellingtons, one on the right foot and the other on the left – then you can do the gardening.

Very funny, Redcirramt! Wellington Boots, to those of us who may not know.

The reclining figure may be typical, but hardly inspiring on the table!

One that sits not painted. At 1:20 rules he will never be needed.

For whatever reason this applies mostly to my ACW units – I have a couple Robert E Lees in 15mm, but at 54mm I have two Stonewall Jacksons and three Robert E Lees (two of them were presents from well meaning relatives)

Is that a Boomerang or a damaged Frisbee?

I tend to want them but I put off painting them. I finally painted my ACW personality figures and added a couple. I never painted my George Washington figure nor my Archduke Karl figure, though I really wanted them to display. I just was not gaming with them, so I put off the painting of them until I finally sold the unpainted figures.
I may buy Archduke Karl again and maybe Washington, but then I have said that in the past and then did not do it.

And to think I worried that my 3 different figures were excessive!

Black Bob doesn't strike me as the Dalmatian type – perhaps a Pitbull or Rottweiler?

I assume the "napping under the newspaper" pose was inspired by Christopher Plummer in "Waterloo."

Is that 25mm?

ConnaughtRanger19 May 2020 3:12 p.m. PST

28mm from Warlord Games. Very nice figure.

Robert le Diable19 May 2020 4:44 p.m. PST

No, no, ConnaughtRanger, Black Bob was a Border Collie, a sheepdog from Selkirk in, appropriately enough, the Scottish Borders.

For my Star Wars gaming, I have 3 Ahsoka Tanos, 3 Obi-Wan Kenobis, 2 Asajj Ventresses, 2 Aayla Securas…the list goes on!

And by the way, I really like the Wellingtons, they actually look like the real man!

Arcane Steve25 May 2020 4:23 a.m. PST

Thanks for your comments. I am definitely going to resist buying more personality figures for now….
BTW, I did have a 'Black Dog' for Black Bob Craufurd but thought that the spotty dog looked better on the base.
