It's apparently a whole new thing the manufacturer is trying to get started: naval modelling in 1/3000 scale, presumably for people who find 1/1250 or 1/700 taking up too much space. They also do Yokosuka Naval Base for $20 USD-odd link and bases for individual ships at just under $8 USD a pop. I can see the ships selling to wargamers because they're cheaper and probably better detailed than any other 1/3000 and a lot more reasonable than Micronauts, bit as a modelling scale this seems a bit too bonsai for most tastes. |
