"By many measures, 2020 is looking to be the worst year that humankind has faced in many decades. We're in the midst of a pandemic that has already claimed more than 280,000 lives, sickened millions of people, and is certain to afflict millions more before it ends. The world economy is in free fall, with unemployment rising dramatically, trade and output plummeting, and no hopeful end in sight. A plague of locusts is back for a second time in Africa, and last week we learned about murderous killer wasps threatening the bee population in the United States. At least a global war would answer a lot of our hypotheticals about whose military is better.

I don't think the affects of COVID are manufactured, but I firmly believe that the Chinese government intentionally allowed international travel to continue during the pandemic, even though they restricted internal travel, to make sure other countries would be damaged as much as they were. They wanted other economies to tumble to maintain their position.

Well, I kind of hope not, but some conflict in the less stable parts of the world is probably inevitable.

Ha ha ha darthfozzywig! Its 6:30am here and I'm laughing my head off to your post. I've just arrived and it feels like I've missed a massacre. :)

World war no, regional conflict yes. Nothing in Europe no one there has a military capable of sustained combat. Biggest flash point China India. Africa only takes a lite fuse to set off something. Maybe South / Central America as Narcotics become the economy. Minor possibility China Vietnam. So a world war, nope.
