…Island In The Maldives. "China and India, which have faced off along the border between the two countries for past few days, remain locked in a silent confrontation despite the COVID-19 pandemic; Beijing's attempts to expand its political influence among the island nations of the Indian Ocean have angered New Delhi. In another development affecting relations between India and China, the latest satellite images of face-lifted Feydhoo Finolhu Island in the Indian Ocean have posed serious concerns for New Delhi…" Main page link link Imho.. this is a massive ecological destruction…

Yep, but the Chinese leadership doesn't care about the destruction, AND for some reason, ALL the normal groups reporting and complaining about stuff like this are strangely silent on the subject. Looks for them to do the same in other areas too, like the South Pacific, near Australia. I read recently that apparently the Chinese now control at least part of Guadalcanal, and are stopping American tourists and others from visiting the battlefields there on tours, like they used to be able to do. I suspect that's to cover up other development moves there by them as well. |

Chinese now control at least part of Guadalcanal China is embarked upon a vast neo-Colonialist expansion the likes of which the world hasn't seen since the 19th century. Reading up on the Solomons, its the same pattern we see in Africa. Dangle Belt & Road money at a poor nation, sign 'em up and then grab control over key sectors of the economy, bring in Chinese management and workers, relegating locals to gruntwork or nothing. The Solomons, like Kenya, is seeing its local fishing industry wiped out and replaced by Chinese products and fishing boats. In Kenya's example, China flooded the Kenyan market with cheap farmed white fish that destroyed the local fishing industry…. fish laden with industrial and agricultural pesticides and toxins… |

From what I've read, they're asking for security of various loans in many nations, and then asking for control of the collateral, when the poor countries can't pay up. Supposedly, they're gaining control of a lot of mines that way, in addition to other things, I suspect. |
