More than you ever wanted to know about my storage system:

We're pretty similar. I use the 12" x 12" mailers (also from Uline! – 2" 3" and 4" heights), bought a big 24" wide roll of magnetic sheeting years ago (just ran out this week!), and same type of storage shelves.

Your box size is smart idea. (I had boxes before shelves, so…)

I don't do labels though, I just write on the box. grin

You are far too organized and efficient.

I am insanely jealous and envious at the same time.

I hate you both…

Very impressive – I have seen shops with less product and far worse organisation.

Very impressive!

But does your system allow you to find unopened packs of figures that you bought in 1985?

I've only been in the hobby since 2005 so…no.

whitphoto08 May 2020 6:36 p.m. PST

Good lord, you move all that stuff every couple of years?

Mark – do you know the U-Line stock number? I cant find one that is 18" x 12". I can find 17" x 11" x 2.5" deep [S-3187]; I can see 18x18x2, 19x12x2.5",…..these are inside dimensions, but should not vary to OD by more than 1/8"..

Thanks.

I am using the same shelf units, two of them now, to supplement the 4 older ones I have.

Uline is great. At our gamaing club, we bought a lot of the Uline mailers and filled them with egg crate foam for the 28mm figure storage for the WWII figures and vehicles. There is probably over 100 of the boxes but we just wrote in marker on them. No cool labels.

For my GW 40K boxes I used a larger (higher) box to accommodate the smaller vehicles and 12x6x6 boxes for the larger tanks. I cut foam for those myself.

For all my more recent additions I have been using RUB plastic boxes with a metal liner and magnets on the bases. You get quite a few more figures in each container though they are not as resilient to movement.

I do pretty much the same thing but with Sterilite plastic 3 drawer containers. I line them with sheet magnet and they hold 90+ 28mm figs per drawer using a 1" square base.

Mark's labels are much fancier though.

Another shout out for Uline and MagnetKing. Good suppliers.
