So a group of us are building forces for Lion Rampant using the 40mm medieval range from Triguard Miniatures. Some of us are faster than others!
One of the issues that came up early, was that there does not appear to be much of a choice when it comes to shield transfers etc.

Patrick, one of the fastest painters in our group, decided to have a go himself. It helped that he was a bit technically capable as well!

He selected free to use heraldic designs from the internet, copying some directly, merging and modifying others. He compiled these into a couple of sheets of heraldic devices at a size suitable for the 40mm figures shields and horse caparisons.

He then sourced a well priced pack of Decal Transfer Paper from the internet, and sought out a print service that could print on that paper. At that stage it was then just a case of getting the paper and files to the printer, a few dollars to print a number of sheets, and that was it.

It's a simple and straight forward approach we are going to work on, and try to develop some that fit the shields in our forces exactly. Here's some pictures to show what he created.

brilliant. How did you find a printers that would print on the decal paper ? (I'm in the UK so it maybe harder to source here)

HI HappyHiker. Well we are in New Zealand, but not overly supplied with print outlets. I think it was just a standard high street digital print outlet. I'm sure they must be available in the UK.
