What do aliens eat for breakfast? Things. What do they pour on their Things? Coca-Cola. Because Things go better with Coke! |

US members might not be aware of a classic British surreal comedy show from the late 60s to 70s: 'The Goodies' (one member of the titular trio, Tim Brooke-Taylor, died recently from you know what), which was staple viewing here in Oz for kids such as myself. Every episode was broken in the middle with mock commercials. One of these featured Tim in school uniform sitting at the breakfast table, pouring the contents of a box labelled 'Kellogg's Plastic Spacemen' into a bowl. He suddenly fossicks in the bowl and calls out 'Look Mum – I found a corn flake!' Ah.. I'd forgotten just how strange a thing is memory. |

I am – watched that insanity (happily) in the late '70s. After having watched Monty Python so much, I NEEDED more! |

If you like 60s and 70s comedy, cartoons specifically, check out, "The Beany and Cecil Show". Started checking it out one slow day a few weeks back. Forgot how funny it was. With episode titles like, "Ain't that a Cork in the Snorkel", "Ben Hare", and "Harecules & the Golden Fleecing" and characters like Dishonest John and Mouth-Full-of-Teeth Keith, a toothless lion. |

Very nice 6mm Gorn. My favorite race to play in the old Start Trek Battles tactical game. Somehow I missed the Goodies when watching BBC reruns on PBS. British humor in the late 70's was so much more entertaining than most of the drivel on US TV. Of course I was a teenager at the time… so read into that what you will. |

Out here on the farm, breakfast is our most important meal. That's why we start each day the natural way. With a big brimming bowl.. of Quarry. Quarry cereal contains no preservatives, no additives, no artificial flavoring. And it's made without the use of pesticides or inorganic fertilizer. Because Quarry isn't grown; it's mined. It's the only cereal that's pure 100% rocks and pebbles, for a hearty old-fashioned flavor the whole family will enjoy. And it's good for you. Because every serving is chockful of minerals. And is stays crunchy in milk! |

Remember what the billboard said: "We'll eat the fat ones first!" ;-) |

Ah, The Goodies and William Shatner… gorn but not forgotten. A mildly trekky female friend has a photo of herself and the Captain taken at a local genre media/pop culture convention some years ago. Happy she was. |

Goodies = brilliant. Star Trek = awful. Just reminds me of dark winter evenings and no alternative viewing. I did a small tribute to TB-T on my blog. link |
