Hi all,

Despite a good dig online, and in my books, I cannot decide what colours Egyptian tanks were painted in the 1967 and 1973 wars.
Was there a difference in styles between the two wars?

I found some pics with a lightish green over light sand, but was that standard?

Any help will be gratefully received!

Try this Herky, this seems to be the standard military theme, even their jets from this period seem to use these colors.

Thanks! – It looks as though from this picture they used similar colours to the Syrian army, though in different amounts!

I do mine in a mixture of plain sand and sand with disruptive green. I go for a very light sand as Egyptian vehicles tend to be pale. I have a strong suspicion they were painted using British light stone desert camo as a base, or a facsimile thereof.

Cheers Martin. One of my wargaming buddies put me on to an excellent book which I have just got. Its Vanguard 17 from Osprey, sadly out of print.
It states that in the 6 Days war, all the Egyptian tanks were in a light sand, but by '73 various versions of camouflage stripes were in use widely.

Thanks to all for your help!

I use the same stuff for 67 and 73, hence the mixture.
