"Star Trek. It's one of the most quintessential pieces of science-fiction television around. And there's a whole damn lot of it, even if you cut it down to the current eight different shows in the franchise (there's even more on the way!). Want to start, but need a little guidance? We've beamed up to help you…"

Being a Trekie I like them all.

For the first two seasons, I'm in agreement. But there are third season episodes listed and there were no "must-watch" third season episodes. "Least-bad" was as good as any of them got, and "Day of the Dove" in particular makes my list of "Decline of Start Trek" episodes.

I find the Third Season to be much better than critics claim. Now, I used to hate Day of the Dove, but when I watched it more recently, I found it had improved. grin

There is no danger of me ever paying anyone for DVDs or cable access in order to watch third season Trek again. And absolutely no chance of me watching the Nye Commission filmed as science fiction again unless someone paid me--and it would have to be a very substantial sum.

I think of ST: TOS as being similar to OD&D and 1e AD&D: people love to hate on them, but they were all cutting edge, going where no previous author had gone before, more or less. I view them from that perspective -- what they were, when they were originally released. However, I admit to being a huge fan. I've streamed TOS on Netflix within the past several years -- it was the first time I saw them in proper order! I was too young when they aired, so I only saw them in syndication, out of order. It was helpful to see them in their proper order. Cheers!

What Are Little Girls Made Of should be on the list. Not only does it feature the most beautiful Star Trek babe, Sherry Jackson, but it's a great story too. One of the few episodes I would consider to be actual science fiction.

Some of my personal favs didnt make their list.

My favourites are probably:-
S1 Balance of Terror
S2 Mirror, Mirror
S3 All Our Yesterdays

S1 had by the far the best episodes, followed by S2 and finally S3. The final S3 had some real duffers, but it still had half-a-dozen good episodes.
