Over the weekend I solo play-tested a 15mm scale adaptation that I'm working on for the 1-48 Tactical WWII skirmish gaming system. The scenario I came up with is entitled "Bocage Brawl" and depicts a meeting engagement of seven-man patrols from the US 101st Airborne Division and the German 6th Fallschirmjaeger Regiment in the vicinity of St. Come-du-Mont on 7 June 1944. The US patrol comprised the following characters (which I created with feedback from game designer Claudio Berni): SGT Crowder (M1A1 Thompson), PFC Zost (BAR), PFC Fetzer (M1 Garand), PFC Hirsch (M1 Garand), PVT Miars (M1 Garand), PVT Ternosky (M1 Garand), and PVT Isbel (M1A1 Carbine). Additionally, one smoke and four fragmentation grenades were distributed among the US characters. [46 points total] The German patrol comprised: Unteroffizier Zurn (MP40), Gefreiter Brasche (Gew-43), Gefreiter Teusen (FG-42), Gefreiter Mertens (K-98K), Gefreiter Ochtrop (K-98K), Flieger Gambietz (K-98K), and Flieger Pietsch (K-98K). Additionally one smoke and four blast/concussion grenades were distributed among the German characters. [46 points total] The game was close and ended in a US 24 VP to 11 VP victory. The deciding factor was the German initial set up that made it difficult for Teusen to get his FG-42 into the fight early on.

That was a great batrep, and great looking, too, thanks for posting! I'm not familiar with those rules, but I like how that played out and would love to know more. V/R, Jack |

I have been selling the rules and figures here in the U.S. and they have been well received. link |

Thanks, Mark, I appreciate it. Like Bezmogu, I'd be doing it in 15mm, so I'm not really interested in the 1/48 scale troops, and I can't seem to find hardly any information on the rules themselves. V/R, Jack |

It appears that this is one of those games where you have to buy the official soldiers to get the stat cards to play the game. Like Flames of War and any of the recent Warlord Games releases. Search 1-48 Tactic on youtube & you can find some instructional videos & play-throughs. |

OK, I'm a sucker for new rules. Just placed my order. |

The rules are very card and chit driven – they sell rules, chit sets and minis. If you want to play in 15mm I imagine you'll have to look for copies of the cards online or just stat up your own guys. |

Jack, here is the link to the 1-48 Tactic forum posting I just made that outlines the few modifications I've come up with to accommodate the smaller 15mm scale. So far they seem to be working well but I'm still relatively new to the system: link A gaming buddy of mine is using his 28mm scale Bolt Action figures with the rules as published and he reports it works well with them. 1-48 Tactic is designing just character cards for use with the system irregardless of the scale a person uses. I missed the KickStarter they ran for the project and am waiting for the new cards to become available for retail purchase. Since the pandemic has put the brakes on many things and the cards may be somewhat delayed I went ahead and created a dozen character cards each for US paratroopers and German fallshirmjaegers for use in the interim. I've incorporated some changes to them from feedback I received from designer Claudio Berni. I've posted PDFs of the cards -- fronts and backs -- on the 1-48 Tactic Forum for free download and use by anyone who wants to use them. Here are the links: US Paratroopers: link German Fallschirmjaegers: link |

I've been waiting nearly three years to get all of my 1-48 Tactics pledge from the KickStarter campaign, as all the components have still not been completed at this date, and so the remainder of my package (and a number of us initial contributors) are still waiting a final shipment, since mailing costs from Italy are keeping our significant orders from having been shipped periodically, and so instead we've been waiting for the "final", single completion package to arrive – someday). Nice that many of the sets are available in the US from Scale Creep. (though I'd really think the rest of the KS stuff should have been delivered in the meantime) |

I got the rulebook today. There are 4 stat cards for the US and 4 for the Germans that you can copy & glue/tape together, so you can provide your own minis and play the game immediately. The rulebook is very nice, full color and the font is easy to read. |
