Does anyone know of a company that makes 54mm toy soldier plastic artillery limbers? I suppose that metal limbers would be ok too.

I'm thinking that I could take the ACW drivers and do a head swap with British Sudan era soldiers in order to make a Limber for my British artillery in the Sudan circa 1896-1898

Imex makes 1/32 ACW limbers.

Is BMC still in production? They used to.

This set has 6 limbers and guns for about $10. USD Reviews seem to be that they look so-so, but they are not Britains obviously.

The IMEX 1/32 ACW limbers are nicer, but you have to buy an entire set to get one limber, team and riders.

The Michigan Toy Soldier Company carries them.

Classic Toy Soldiers also does a nice limber set -- a recast of the old Marx Playset ACW limber.

MTSC also carries them.

I've had good results when ordering from MTSC. No complaints.

DAF;
The BMC ones are pretty good.

Ross Macfarlane did a nice How To on modifying and painting one up for the table on his blog.

Cheers;

My grandson has some of the 6 for $10 USD ones. They aren't great, but with a little work can be made into some thing. And for the price…

Contact John at Gettysburg Toy Soldier. He has a fabulous selection of 1/32nd and other sized plastics in all proce ranges. Two thumbs up from me!

Yes, John is a wonderful and honest person to deal with. He has a great selection of plastic figures. I am sure he can help.

I just picked up a couple of the IMEX sets. I wanted the limbers, the horses, and some of the figures. The limber box is just a plain box, no handles nor details. For me this is fine as may rework it to be more Germanic looking. The guns I may use for my Brown Army (I'm building a Red (British types) vs Blue (Prussian types)pair of armies, but then I may do a Brown army. This Brown Army will be native and other types. The setting is the late 19th century on an island called Knotding Atoll.

I found a review of the IMEX set here link
