Plausible, except the US entry is not likely. Remember that Roosevelt would have had trouble getting the American public t accept war with Japan's ally, Germany -- it took Germany declaring war on the US to make Europe the US' focus. Most likely the US would have stayed neutral. |

That is hard to say SB. I don't know how 1942 would have evolved if Germany hadn't declared war on the US. Would the US have eventually come in any event? |

I think the US probably would have declared war on Germany on 1942 anyway – but in this scenario, with a non-hitlerian Germany fighting other European powers for 'normal' reasons – I can't see how Roosevelt could convince the isolationist Congress and public to get involved. |

If the central empires had won the First World War, most likely there would not have been the Second World War and Europe would be in a better situation than it is in, both from the point of view of its physical and economic state, of the social and cultural one. Of course the winners, in order to guarantee Europe some peace, would have had to create a role as controllers of the defeated powers (which had also sparked the conflict). Not an easy role for the Austro-Hungarian Empire in internal boiling, nor for Germany, which has never had the aim of conquering Europe, as non-acquaintances believe. The US would have played a decidedly minor role and the planet would have found itself with more leading states in balance. |

Of course I think it would be interesting to see what the Turks could field in WWII … |
