Doug and Tony really picked the short straw when tumbling through time – they always land in a conflict zone, never on, say, a really nice tropical island with a decent bar. And how does Doug only get concussion at The Alamo? The guy gets punched in the head at least two or three times per episode? But the question is : Have you ever gamed a scenario inspired by a Time Tunnel episode? Yes No Inspired by the what? Not a wargamer. |

I played games with toy soldiers after watching episodes of Time Tunnel but you couldn't really call them wargames. I even built a tunnel and the desk from the control center. link |

Isn't Alternative Armies' Doom Squad something like that? |

I never built a Time Tunnel, but I also played with army men with inspiration from the tv series. No real wargaming, though. I would be happy to watch an episode set in Florida in early 1932, where the time travelers find themselves waking up behind Sloppy Joe's bar, next to a passed-out Ernest Hemingway, and spend weeks fishing, drinking, and carousing until General Kirk decides they're having too much fun to justify his budget and pulls them out of there. (Next week: Tahiti, October 1, 1891, and drinking absinthe with Paul Gaugin.) |

No. I've seen it, but I didn't really watch it. Also, the actions of the protagonists are too orthogonal to the time jumps. Cause Lincoln to be assassinated earlier, save Hitler's life … doesn't matter, you're jumping when the dweebs in the control room figure out how to make you jump again. I've run campaigns more like Back to the Future or Quantum Leap (which I didn't really like) – the heroes have to accomplish something (different each time) before they can jump again. Then the interfering objectives come in … survive dangerous situations, don't interfere (including fixing things your presence or survival actions messed up), food/drink/rest every once in a while, figure out where/when you are (some are not obvious) & what's going on, and so on. |

Also, the actions of the protagonists are too orthogonal to the time jumps. Cause Lincoln to be assassinated earlier, save Hitler's life … doesn't matter, you're jumping when the dweebs in the control room figure out how to make you jump again. They can't actually change anything – bu that assasinate Lincoln epsiode could make a good Western RPG session. You don't need Doug and Tony, I was thinking more of the situations than the actual episodes. |

If Master Sergeant Jiggs joins Tony and Doug on an adventure with his Thompson and box of hand grenades, then you have a real interesting "Time Tunnel" scenario/game… |

Aren't half the Doctor Who episodes just time travel? |
