I've had a VR headset since before Christmas. Some games are very fun. But except for a handful of designated VR games) most are glorified tech demos. Just a couple of hours long, often 1 or 2 gimmicks they show off. But some games are real games, that just happen to have support for VR. They might not use all the best parts of VR, but it can still be very immersive. Case in point Dirt 2, a proper rally game with all that entails, with career modes both for rally and rally cross. I also got myself a used G25 wheel, gear lever and pedals. It's very immersive sitting inside the rally car, hands on a steering wheel, feet on the pedals and gear lever. When doing handbrake turns you can just turn your head to look out the side window as your car drifts sideways. |
