Having recently made significant modifications to the game code, I used the ‘Run to the South' phase of Jutland as a test case. Course changes, speeds and formations were followed as closely as practical. The primary source was the signals information in Brooks, although plots from Marder, Campbell, Tarrant and the Naval Staff Appreciation were also used.

This is very interesting!

Your rules sound great. I wish they were available for use. If I read the description accurately they would essentially operate on almost any spreadsheet program?

ShipBase III just isn't cutting it anymore with all the modifications needed. I was hoping there was something better out there in the last 25+ years but other than buckets of dice or micro-management rule sets I can't find anything.

Keep up the posts!

Thanks

Doctor X:

I think that the macro language for OpenOffice and LibreOffice is not the same as that in MS Office. I don't know about any other spreadsheets. Someone with enough knowledge might convert it, but not me.
