Has anyone used them or bought from them in last 12-24 months? Experience? Especially curious regarding 15mm Napoleonics and 18th century. |

I used them about 8 months ago for colonials – loved their work – some nice details on flags. They were timely and things shipped safely. |

I have purchased from them a bunch over the years (usually at least once each year). I currently have an order in now that they are finishing up. Easy to work with. Recommended. |

I have utilized the service in the past with no problems. Vladimir is a super guy to deal with. |

+1 Old Guard is great. Shipping might be an issue these days, as the routes seem to be contracting a bit. Example – DHL from Germany to Canada is a no go ATM. |

Mind you, by the time they are done and ready to ship the situation may have eased. |

Ever since their maybe second year (18 years ago? Ouch with a iatus of 3 years) near 1 sometimes 2 parcels a year. No pb from them. Compared to my first try in the 80s in the Uk which was stolen by the painter (Welsh). |

I have purchased from Vladimir a lot over the last two years and everything has been great. I'd highly recommend them. |

Do their costs include the price of the figs, or do most of you send them to him? |

I have mountains of 6mm painted by them through the last 15 years. Always excellent service and unsurpassed quality. They also do great 15/18mm, as several members from my club have had painted. Since Vladimir is a wargamer himself, he knows what you need and do great research when painting. Highly recommended! Nic |

Tyn Man, you can use either approach. I usually purchase figures they have pre-painted (Napoleonics), and have ordered additional figures and units based on needs. They have access to some of the manufacturers and can supply the figures. I have also had them order BOKI figures and paint them up for me (easier than having them shipped here and then shipping them back to Europe). |

Also have bought many figures over probably 15 yrs. Vladimir is always great to deal with. |

BTCTerrainman It is no need to ship figures to you. I may ship your figures directly to your chosen painter. This is common practice. |

@madcam2us it took a month to get to you? What sort of volume did you order and did they base the figures for you? |
rmcaras | 18 Apr 2020 2:16 p.m. PST |
"it took a month to get to you?" I've had dozens of shipments over the years from Old Guard. The current one cleared Ukraine on 02 April. It cleared New York this morning, 18 April. I hope it arrives this week [4/19-25]. I suspect the mail service, including processing packages thru US Customs is impacted by the CV. My experience has been an average of 12-15 days. The quickest was 8-9 days. The longest took about 4 weeks. That shipment ran into the US Holiday season and the Ukraine holiday season, about 2 weeks behind [Orthodox vs Western calendars]. Hope that helps. |

It helps a little. It would help more if you mentioned if they based the figures for you and if they also were delivered without damage. |

It would help more if you mentioned if they based the figures for you and if they also were delivered without damage your wish is my command…. No, my figures come unbased. Each figures is individually wrapped in a bit of paper toweling and then in a bag of like unit. You can imagine getting hundreds of figures unwrapped and sorted and inspected. I have been very well pleased with the very rare damage rate. I have never inquired about sending based figures. I prefer to do those myself. In fact until recently they used to paint the riders/horses separately. I inquired if they could not glue them together [vice me doing it]. They were happy to oblige and not charge anything. Each "baggie" of wrapped figures has a slip of paper identifying it by regimental/unit name, along with a separate invoice. My experience may not match with others, since I send my figures over and we establish a painting/delivery schedule, vice OGP selling open stock here on TMP. Let me know if you have any other questions. |

@rmcaras That's good intel. Thanks. |

@ MiniPigs, Sizeable is subjective for sure… Not sure of the exact numbers (threw away the slip) but over 300 figures and only 2 broken rifles in the bunch. No to basing as I prefer to do that myself. However, im sure everything is available… for a price.. Im pretty cheap, and picky when it comes to my minis… However, I will buy from him again. Madcam. |

What do the charge for the 15mm painted figures they list? |
Fredloan | 28 Apr 2020 5:06 p.m. PST |
$4.80 USD US per 15mm for Collector Quality. I have an order going to them within the week. |
rmcaras | 28 Apr 2020 6:12 p.m. PST |
Price varies by quality, and foot versus cavalry (consider cavalry = 2 "foot" figures). Also, I'd encourage negotiating. And finally, they offer pre-painted figures out of inventory for prices, usually less than their price "quote" sheet, where you send them the raw figures. These figures are offered here on TMP Marketplace. |
