Thanks for posting that Armand. I have a special interest in the Imperial Gendarmerie, especially as the French Dromedary Regiment was put into the Gendarmerie when they returned from Egypt. |

Yes an excellent summary of people and events not just the Legion de l'elite. For a unit I determined was insignificant for gaming purpose, and therefore was not to model in anyway- once research and actual deployment taken into account, not least the 'escort' of dignitaries and security of the E-M-Generale persuaded me that some must appear. This paper confirms their further deployment across the Corps and indeed all military established 'places' more formally. Davout's cavalry commander at Auerstadt was late to the action, so Davout used his detachment of gendarmes in their place and they attacked and captured a battery of Prussian artillery. |
