….in This Exclusive Rise of Skywalker Clip.

"Did you know that not only does the finale of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker have cameos of ships from animated series Rebels, Resistance, Clone Wars, and the theme park ride Star Tours, but 55 newly designed ships? That's one of several brand new revelations in the above clip, which io9 is excited to exclusively debut from the home release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, out on Blu-ray March 31 and digital March 17…."

I'm sorry. Was I supposed to be impressed by that scene? People need to tell me these things. Because I was sitting there in the theater, thinking that this would have been a great scene--IF the Star Wars people had spent the previous 30 years creating memorable races and cultures with distinctive immediately recognizable ships associated with them.

You build a plywood universe, you get a cardboard space fleet.

The biggest fleet ever built and no one knows of it. Please!!!

Tango01 Thanks. I still enjoy the Star Wars stuff. I have since I first saw it in '77 and I am enjoying the new stuff 40+ years later. Please keep showing us this stuff.

Haven't seen it yet apart from clips, but it looks dumb all round. Palpatine's followers have been mass producing a variant of the old Imperial Star Destroyers instead of simply finally giving an explanation as to where the old Imperial Fleets disappeared to after his death with the disappearance of the majority of the 25,000 Imperial Star Destroyers (alone, never mind all the supporting ships) produced never being explained and the Resistance which could barely scrap together a few ships up to this point suddenly has a massive fleet as well.

The scene was impressive, but unbelievable. In Episodes VII and VIII we see the Resistance pared down to a handful of ships and people with no one willing to help them. And then Lando Clarisian says: 'Hey, let me go talk to the entire galaxy. Be back in a few hours.' And somehow in just a short time he convinces EVERYONE to go flying off to some secret star systems and engage in a huge battle. Sorry, just not buying it.
