Great work.

From an Italian Wars fan, those are simply amazing. Great job with them. Gotta love gendarmes, the panzers of their time period.

There is nothing left out, and nothing to add. Superb work, both in writing the review and especially in painting :-)

Perhaps one could add that the Foundry riders mix well with Perry horses.

Beautiful!

Thank you,

Mr Puster: you are a genius. I hadn't thought of putting the Foundry riders on Perry horses to get a bit more variation, and it just so happens that I've got a few half-bard kits for the Perry sets knocking about somewhere

I have a load of Perry plastic sprues from the 1450-1500 range, but has not thought about the ability to mix in Steel Fist. These are among the best Perry I have seen on display.

Probably the best review of renaissance gendarmes I've ever read. The presentation is superb. Thank you for sharing.

And yes, Perry horses and Foundry riders mix well. laugh

The gendarmes look really impressive! I must look at the Steel Fist website to see what all they make.

Super nice. Love the subtle work on the caparisons.

@YogiBearMinis
Actually Steel Fist & Perry or Foundry do not mix that well, as Steel Fist horses are just a bit larger – and you would have to shave off some saddle as the rider/mount connection is different.
If you want to represent a mixed unit with destriers (SteelFist) and coursers they will be fine, though.

Perry and Foundry probably mix so well because the Perrys sculpted the Gensdarmes (&Landsknechts) for Foundry.
