Nice technique, thank you. Haven't seen the twine used before. Probably very resilient compared to more brittle armatures.

@CeruLucifus, they are very soft and not at all prone to breaking, the fine turf adheres well to the fibers usng just the wet paint but I like to really lock it down with a can of cheap hairspray. It will lose some flexibility but the flock will never come off!
