I dont normally post here – but looking at some of the cell technology being used to track movement during this crisis Similar to what was done with Florida Spring Breakers and mapping where cell phone use increase and movement link While I would assume current planners have restrictions on front line troops – by analyzing patterns and visualizing data – perhaps even coming up with strategies to combat it – I wonder how much of an impact this has had on our modern military… Or how much it will. Couple that in with our gaming – How do we best simulate that type of intelligence gathering – or do we just lump it in with an intelligence factor? |

A year or so ago, I read an article about figuring out the locations of secret military facilities by tracking the locations of fitness wrist devices. I might use real-time or historical location data in a role-playing game, especially with espionage and/or law enforcement themes. For a wargame, I think that I would just consider it covered by the intelligence rules. Do military personnel carry their personal mobile phones on patrol and stuff? That seems like it's inviting distraction when you want the men focused. |
