I read a lot more last night. It really is a little gem. He had dug deep and makes some statistical analysis relatively light reading – no mean feat! I won't tell her! ssssh |

It's funny this appeared now, I'd just been thinking about apostles vs cartridge bags and matchlocks vs flintlocks. Whether newly raised regiments were more likely to have "modern" equipment than veteran regiments. A bit like raw German tank units in late 1944 getting Panthers while the veterans soldier on with Panzer IVs. And soon I'll have the answer!!! |
