Hi Everyone,

Today I played out a game of HOTT using 1/300th Microtanks. The battle was a Orange vs Blue training exercise set around 1980 with the US vs British BAOR. The US played the Orange Opfor and were attacking. I used the Bruce McFarlane variant

and the game played pretty well. In the variant Bruce had his formations set at between brigade size to division. I used 24 points per army which when seen on the table with my terrain don't really look like divisions.

The game lasted around an hour and was fun solo. I didn't use quick kills as the Chieftains would probably have obliterated the American M60s pretty easily. Hope you like this. Comments and crits welcome.
More pretty pictures over on the blog.

I like your rating/troop classification system.

Thanks 79th,

I haven't tried out the troop classification rules yet. Am wondering if I can mark recoils up on paper as I don't really want to put down markers on the table. With a few stands this should be possible, but with larger forces could be more difficult. There are also rules for commander's efficiency and size of the force.

I'm not at all familiar with HOTT, so thank you for the modern introduction, and I very much enjoyed the battle report, thanks for posting. I hope there will be more!

Jack

Thanks Jack,

Should be more, but these NATO types need more training before tackling The Bear.
