Just a few pics I had left over of figures from Gringos40, that I never really got around to basing, but might now just have the time. I do prefer the modelling of NVA figures, especially those in the "pith" helmet (which apparently it was not, strictly speaking) but I still really cannot give them shelf room.

Now just as long as these two patrols never meet……….

nice indeed

Thanks, appreciated.

To be honest, nothing special here. Just a few spare figures I never used, stuck in front of photos from Hue. I had not thought the photography quite up to standard to show

I am really just trying to encourage everyone to post even their simplest pics, whether from their phone or even SLR flash photography (daylight is far kinder though).

Times like this we need something new to look at!

Yes, the brown ink left a marked sheen. I was just about to varnish that out and decided against it. As always the lighting I need for depth of focus just increases any gloss, but in him it works!

thanks

Well done, Liam.
You can feel the tension, just from the way you have the figs positioned. These scenes actually seem more animated than some of your more complex work.

He does have the build for an M60 carrier!

Thanks all.

Bismarck, I am slowly learning that keeping it simple often works better. Plainer backgrounds, fewer figures….I do not "do" subtlety in anything…

Yes, normally we would give the M60 to one of the bigger guys in the Sqd/Plt. They also ended up being an RTO …

That is terrific. Nice photography, good water effect, love the shell/bomb craters.

Nothing would tempt me onto that bridge. Cannot see any of the opposition (that is the time to worry of course) is the APC from Empress?

Very nice !

Yes any bridge in a combat area could be a problem. No only it may not be able to withstand the weight of the vehicle. And we ran into this when I was in the ROK in the countryside, '84-'85. But of course in Vietnam it could be booby trapped/wire up with demo. A good recon of the situation should be in order. However, you always didn't have that option.

In this case the M113 may do better to cross thru the stream. But you have to be careful there as well.

I sunk my M151 crossing a stream in the winter in the ROK. frown But I didn't feel too, too bad as the Bn XO did the same with his CUCV SUV later that week. I didn't like him anyway ! evil grin

I recall that story you told in far more detail quite some time ago. It raised a good laugh then and is well worth the retelling.

We could use a laugh.

That bridge just cries out booby trap, firing on fixed lines or even just termites.
