I'm awash in washers to magnetize some ASOIAF minis…and none of these washers are attracted to my magnets. I feel like I'm trying to get pandas to mate here. |

Gotta take a magnet to the hardware store when you buy the washers… |

I may be forced to break quarantine. :) |

Our stay at home order (not really quarantine) allows us to go outside to exercise (as long as we maintain social distance), and to go to essential businesses, like the grocery store, doctor's office, and of course the hardware store. So depending on what your order says, it might be OK to go buy new washers. |

My wife is itching to drive somewhere and keeps reminding me that hardware store trips are fine*, even if for miniatures projects. ;) * LAPD isn't stopping and interrogating people anyway. I'm just cultivating the Omega Man vibe.

I'm awash in washers to magnetize some ASOIAF minis…and none of these washers are attracted to my magnets. That is because you have washers made from Stainless Steel (300 series grade). Stainless steel is non-magnetic, same grade your kitchen sink is made from. When you buy washers, unless they specifically say they are "Stainless Steel", they will be made from carbon steel and will be magnetic. Stainless steel washers are also much more expensive due to the high chrome content in the steel. Lowes is open here in Ohio, I just want there two days ago an bought 150 washers! Good Luck. Kim |
