Painted these up ages ago but never did get around to getting some photos. Seems curiously easier to find the time now. Actually managed a series of pics to day but here at least are some characters from the Gringos40 Assault team in 28mm. Usual cheat of course when it comes to the building…….a bit beyond my modelling skills;

Nice piece of work, Liam!
If you had not said, the building looked like you scratch built it! I still shake my head at what you have done combining photos and figures!

Thanks both.

Pure luck to spot a photo with an already opened door. It does give a very good 3D effect. The original figures actually come with a door and frame and I have long intended…well….

Not sure how wise he is to be so exposed in the open door and I hope he quickly stands aside when the chap next to him chucks his grenade in! The chap with the Thompson, I removed the butt as seems to have been common practice to lighten it.

That is amazing work. I did not realize that the building was a photograph. Wow.

Have you ever done a tutorial on the Marines? The sublte/faded camo on the helmets is just amazing!

Me do a tutorial? You have no idea how chaotic I am. I keep meaning to record what I did for individual figures but never do….then I start on a new set and am back to square one. The helmet covers for these started out with three very stark bright colours….sand, a bright green of some kind and a dark tan all in splodges. Then a wash or two, then a sandy dry brush over the whole thing until the pattern all but disappeared.

For the real thing…..any kind of sandy colour would be right, with the faintest hint of cammo pattern. But in 28mm figures that would not LOOK right…..

My wife insists she cooks like that. No idea what she has chucked in but amazing what she produces…….

Thanks a lot Deadhead!

It's the drybrush I've not tried. Here we go….

Understood one the tutorial!
