Very generous! Question for those who play Frostgrave – I have played a few times and it seems to me the opposed d20 combat system lends itself to min-max results a lot. Either you barely (or don't) damage a figure with your attack, or you one-shot kill it outright, even after all the combat mods and items mods. So to me the combat feels like I could get the same result with a coin toss. Am I missing something?? |

Hmm, I tried and didn't get a box to enter the free code, Ah well! |

@SBminisguy, The combat can be very unforgiving. Not everyone's cup of tea. I do see what your saying, that it seems most combats are miss or kill, but think that's just what you remember. I've run FG and FGA at a bunch of times at Historicon, Coldwars and Fall In. We see everything from One shot kills, to hits with no damage and wounded characters sneaking around with 1 hit left, afriad to cast spells as a miscast will kill them. Again I think the biggest hurtle some have with the game is the very sudden deaths, but in a campaign system, game death is mitigated with rolling to see if the "out of action" character is indeed dead or just crawled off the field to recover later. Cheers, Jeff |

First, thanks Joe & Osprey for this generous gesture. Second, WRT the kill/miss…I've been playing since it came out. Yes, there are some games where the d20 can swing from one to the other extreme. I find that is very true of low level wizards (and heritors), more experienced wizards are much more robust and short of a natural roll of 20 and a critical hit you can weather the storm. the addition of Captains is also really good as it gives a third very robust character, and also you can stock up many of your henchmen with healing potions and other groovy gear. YMMV |

When I hear the word "free", I usually start walking in the opposite direction. There is very little which is free in life. There is usually a catch; mostly someone is collecting your personal data. |

I buy Osprey products so no catch for me anyway. I had no problems logged in to add the items to my basket (code box in the lower left), then checkout with "no payment" selected. A nice way to get the game in wider circulation and give us something else to do. Solo gaming is new for me but who knows, I might like it. Thanks Joe. |

Joe5mc, Thank you very much for letting us know about this deal! I downloaded with no problems and downloaded Frostgrave. I started reading through it at lunch today, and I think I'm gonna give it a try with some of my gaming buddies in the near future. |

Neat, thanks. I have the Frostgrave book, but haven't played. I wonder if going from solo to coop would be straightforward. andy |
