Hi all, I building a British force for Sharp Practice, and would like to use it for both the battle of Copenhagen and the Peninsula. I'm pretty sure I'm in the clear to use the 95th Rifles and the KGL Hussars (Which regiments, though), but what about KGL heavy dragoons and the regular infantry regiments? The 92th Highlanders and the 50th Foot were at Copenhagen, but were they in the Peninsula? Any hints would be appreciated :-) |

If you have access to Oman's study on Wellington's army in the Peninsula that book has a list by year of which British and allied units were in what division. |

PCS Dane According to one of Nafziger's O.B.s '807HAK' the following British and KGL units were at the 1807 siege: 1st Div 1st Br – 32, 50, 82 2nd Br – 7, 8 3rd Br – 4, 23 Art – 6# bty, 9# bty 2nd Div 1st Br – 6, 7, 8 KGL 2nd Br – 3, 4, 5 KGL 3rd Br – 1, 2 KGL 4th Br – 1, 2 KGL Lt Art – KGL 12# bty, KGL 6# bty 3rd Div 1st Br – 28, 79 2nd Br – 2 bns. (O.B. lists this as 3rd(Coldstream Grd)?? Res Div 1st Br – 43, 52, 92 2nd Br. 95 – 2 half bns Art – 2 KGL Horse Btys. No cavalry is listed, but the Osprey title says the 3 KGL Lt Dragoon (Hussar)regts were present. It appears that all the British units were later in the Peninsula except the 8th. PS – Just checked the Regimental History which says the 1st Bn Coldstreams and 1st Bn 3rd Grds made up the Grd. Brigade. |
