This so called Rumford uniform, along with the unique helmet and white uniforms were worn by the Bavarians in the French Revolutionary Wars till about 1799 / 1800. The miniatures are from Sho Boki and the paper colours from Adolfo Ramos, the miniatures painted for 11th Füsilier Regiment von Preysing

Very nice vonW. I don't know my Rhine front as well as the Low Countries. Were they in any major actions wearing this other than Hohenlinden? Phil |

Those are cool…so much so that I went to Amazon and put a Hohenlinden book on my wish list! When you mention Mass Army Project on your website what does that mean? |

quite a lot of fighting in 1793 to 1794 at the Rhine, also taking part in the siege of Mainz – it is not sure what uniform they did wear at Hohenlinden there in 1799 a new uniform should have been introduced, it seems however that a part did still carry the old Rumford dress. |

Impressive! But should'nt the breeches to be a bit darker? I liked these Bavarians especcially for reverse from usual contrast – white coats and dark breeches. Like Hungarian Infantry in Austrian Army. @Darryl This question is probably to me, I am not aware about von Winterfeldt website. Mass Army Project is my standard to create infantry units. Preprepared dolls for Command set – Officer, Flagbearer, Drummer (now also NCO), and trooper pose for 3 sizes: Small – like Austrians and late Russians 160-165cm tall troops; Medium – average troops 170cm; and Tall – over 180 cm grenadiers. This is intended to create sets faster and cheaper for commissioners. |

Indeed I have no webside, about trousers I did go according to original item and contemporary portraits. |

here the images I based my "grey" on, one is an original in the Bavarian Army museum at Ingolstadt, the other a contemporary print, one will notice the difference to modern interpretations, in case of doubt or choice I usually prefer the original / contemporary source. I may however paint in the future a darker and colder grey to enhance contrast. theminiaturespage.com
