If you had extra time for painting due to the current medical crisis, what would you paint? |
JimDuncanUK | 12 Mar 2020 1:50 p.m. PST |
I already paint 7 days a week, what more can I do. |

Jacobite Irish army for Beneath the Lilly Banners. Ten units, Front Rank figures. I have the lead, it sits there staring defiantly at me… |

It would have to be something new, not all that stuff sitting in the lead pile for years now. |

Journey to Lead Mountain! Competing for first in line would be: -old GW Space Marines with beaked helmets, who might become Darrian troopers for Traveller (or maybe Sword Worlders) and -various Infinity figures that I've collected over the years, which will also be adapted for Traveller |

Well I'm working from home, which gives me plenty of time to get little stuff done while I'm waiting for my computer to finish rendering images or video. I can't get any real painting done, but prep work, varnishing, etc… only takes a couple minutes. I'm expecting my output to go up this month… |

I have some US WWII figures I need to get to, and Dark Age figures to paint. After that, there are Romans to fight my Celts, and two opposing warbands for the Trojan wars. Not exactly what you asked, but with more time available, I have some conversions I've bought the figures for, sometimes even started, and could finish. Grelber |

I'm retired, so I won't really get much extra time, but the current priorities are: Napoleonics (2me & 4me Regiments Provisiores Croates, Husards Croates, Berliner Burgergarde, Helwig'sche Streifkorps Hussars, Calabrian Free Corps, 1st & 2nd Italian Levy) AWI (1/ 2/King's Royal Regiment of New York, the Brunswick Brigade) 1930's/WW2 (AC1 Sentinels, A9's, A10's, Matilda I's and II's, Light Tanks Mk.VI, T-35) Pulp and Fantasy (various) |

I'll paint more of what I already have in the lead pile. If I was inside for 2 weeks I'd still be painting RCW and African tribes both in 28mm. |

As I wrote to local gamers: "We should plan more painting nights while we wait for the apocalypse to subside. Like the characters in the Decameron, we can tell bawdy tales of amorous conquests, while painting little men. Then again, we are gamers. Such tales would occupy but a few minutes." |

I put together a queue list, to focus on what to paint, when I get back to it… My list is in my painting room. Can't remember what is first on the list, unfortunately. Won't get back to painting for another month… Cheers! |

I once estimated that if I painted every day for 8 hours a day I could finish in about 30 years. I have my own collection and one I inherited from a friend who died. Right now painting transition to pre dreadnought warships in 1/1000 to 1/1250 scale. When finished there will paint 1/300 scale coastal warships (Cruel Seas). Then some SciFi spaceships. Throw in some WW2 aircraft for verity. |

Looks like I will be doing more painting – had to cancel our Florida trip as the bosses will quarantine health care workers who went away for March break Time to finish off those Imaginations Guard Grenadiers! |

I paint every day anyway. I may get some extra in during the weekends. If push came to shove I would work from home, so no extra time of thankfully. |

Some paint is inbound, via the USPS, and/or UPS I suspect. Makes me wonder if it will arrive, AND more importantly, if I'll actually crack a jar open to use it. |

I have been unemployed now for a few months. It is amazing how little extra painting I have managed to do. Still applying for jobs (seems really pointless with the virus now), and running errands for the extended family take up more time than I would have expected. To be fair though, if I was employed my family would take time off to deal with what I am volunteering to do. So I guess I will just plan to more that I don't get around too. Hmm. That is familiar. |
