About to start the Chain of Command campaign 29, Let's Go! for which I will need two Marders. I had one of the PSC set that I had made previously but needed to add another and was inspired by someone else to try adding foliage as camouflage. I was a bit worried I was about to wreck a perfectly good model but all seemed to turn out okay in the end. Marders from PSC and crew figures from AB.

Very nice. I am working up to the 29 Lets Go! Campaign as well – in 28mm. I'll look forward to seeing how yours goes.

You are correct, have seen many a model (not just wargame ones) ruined by foliage used for camouflage. Yours is not ok, it is excellent! My hats off to you, would be right at home in a model competition.

Very nicely done.

That is absolutely fantastic! Now I can't show pics of my Marders… ;)

Oh great! A US campaign. I have toyed with the idea of a US Platoon to give me another option with my Normandy Germans and Brits. It will be good to see what they use and how they play. I hope this is a classic infantry unit and not paratroopers.
So excited I almost forgot to add my applause for the great foliage to all the other admirers – your modelling skills are excellent but is it robust enough to last out the campaign?

These are the 29th infantry division so a regular infantry unit slogging its way between Omaha and Utah.

Thank you. The foliage is reasonably robust and if the Marders are handled by the wheels and tracks it should hold up okay. That said they may only appear in a few scenarios and may not last too long when faced with Shermans and bazookas. They will need to get the first shots and hope they count!

Is the foliage "Leaf Litter" from Green Stuff World?

TacticalPainter0112 Mar 2020 11:12 p.m. PST

Is the foliage "Leaf Litter" from Green Stuff World?

No, the leaves are made by Noch and the 'branches' are coconut fibre (rubberised horsehair or similar).

Awesome work!

I wish people would realize that if they type 'wow' and only 'wow' then they are literally saying JUST wow. No need to type 'just wow'; just write 'wow'. Pretty neat, huh?

But great work on the models, well done!

Must admit, I do not mind in the least if someone reacts to my work with a simple "wow", "cool" or "far out man" (except no-one says that any more). Better than being ignored!

But I much prefer some added content. Why do you like it? What could have been done better? Questions about the techniques shown. Constructive criticism and errors highlighted.

Must admit seeing Noch leaves done like that, I too am inclined to a "Wow, just wow". I have boxes full of them and have never been impressed with the stems …so the obvious thing, replace them! Great work

Very nice work. Your foliage loks great, and the AB crew is simply fantastic.
Since I also enjoy your gaming reports a lot , if I may ask, I'd like to know who these Marders will fight against?

Thanks. They will be fighting Americans in Normandy next. They are needed for the 29, Let's Go! campaign that focuses on the 29th division's push towards Isigny bridge to help link Omaha and Utah.

I had an old post with one each of the different models of Marders in a picture but photobucket appears to have gone south.
