Erdogan is meeting with NATO leaders and has a list of demands including greater battlefield support including air support and recce, as well as more aid for refugees (ironically partially created by his own regime's interference in Syria).

Erdogan had already given NATO a list of 10 requests including greater air support on the Turkish-Syrian border, more reconnaissance aircraft, surveillance drones, and more ships in the eastern Mediterranean, according to diplomatic sources

So Erdogan lost his last toe-hold of Saraqeb in Idlib province to the Syrian army backed by Russia last week and now wants to draw NATO into the conflict to bail him out? Why would NATO do that?

Assad has won the civil war which started nearly 10 years ago in 2011 and is regaining Syrian territory lost to the rebels in that conflict. The game is over.

Yea, good luck with that.

NATO should tell him to get stuffed.

And all he has done over the last 10 years or more is to alienate Turkey and NATO, then most recently taken the extra steps of cosying up to Putin, and alternately both thumbing his nose at the West and threatening us … and now he wants us to join in a war against his recent Russian & Syrian friends and bail him out?!? I hope NATO calls him out.

Isn't this the same guy that wouldn't allow "Desert Storm/Shield" NATO troops to deploy from his country?

All I have to say to Erdogan is:

Have fun storming the castle!

"Turkey wants" – sorry, I stopped reading after that.

You play both sides long enough you end up getting played.

Based on the cover, this week's Economist magazine is advocating Nato help Turkey. Not received the issue yet…maybe today. Unless all the Posties are quarantined! :-O

Is there a provision to throw a member out of NATO? Turkey deserves it.
