I have a vague feeling i saw someone recently selling commercially ready painted units – boxed. Paintwork was not collectors quality, more ‘3 foot table rule" does this ring any bells? |

The only pre-painted figures I know of is Big Battalions ( link ) but they definitely are collectors quality. |

I can and will say that I've seen far worse, and recently, than those Stonewall figure units. Though some uniform details are incorrect and the heavy handed 'shading' is somewhat intrusive, colours off etc., at those prices it seems a bargain starter range for beginners. Not sure of composition either, like '5' being shown for artillery. Does that include the gun? Meanwhile back in 25mm land… d |

Stonewall are good and make an excellent start to an army. the figures are nice, the paint job is ok but the price is very, very good. I have hundreds of them |

For the money, it looks like a good deal to me. |
