So I'm referring specifically to the 40k offshoot that was released in 2017.

This poll does not refer to Adeptus Titanicus.

The reasons I ask are as follows:

I was quick to buy the modified 7th Edition rules when they came out in 2017. The support for the game started out great with 2 boxed sets (Calth & Prospero) being released.

But within about a year of the rules being released GW/FW stopped producing the 2 boxed sets and they never followed up with a 3rd set.

In addition to that, while releases from FW began to slow down, things got worse when FW removed approximately 1 dozen miniature codes permanently from their Web site (Mk2 armor, etc…).

Lastly, AARs and miniature reviews have all but disappeared from YouTube and even TMP.

I ask not to raise any drama re: GW/FW but because I own 2 unassembled armies (1000 Sons & Space Wolves). I'd love to get back to work on these 2 armies but I worry about the HH going the way of Space Hulk and Battle Fleet Gothic.

It's also more fun to paint up and game armies when other people are working on similar projects.

Anyway, I'll keep the poll topic simple.

"Has the Horus Heresy games seen it's best days in the past OR does it still have a viable future?"

Betrayal at Calth and Burning of Prospero were one-offs just like other non-HH board games such as Space Hulk, Assassinorum: Execution Force, Deathwatch: Overkill and Speed Freeks. I don't think there were any promises or expectations that GW would keep releasing HH games.

Having said that, if the 30K range is being phased out at FW, maybe it is winding down. Is Black Library still releasing HH novels?

BL is pushing out the final HH battles right now.

30k will be a core game game alongside 40k next year or the year after.

@John, do you think 30k will get updated to 8th or even 9th edition?

Heresy releases have been steady for the last year. It's not going anywhere. Nor will it transition to 40k rules anytime soon. FW is well aware that the core Heresy fans would be incredibly upset if that happened.

The number of heresy events around the world is up. Our local events in NJ are always sold out.

"The number of heresy events around the world is up."

That's good news then.

I wonder why that doesn't crossover to youtube as well.

Like most of GW's games … it will run it's course. Probably sooner than later. As to keep making profit they must keep producing new, "bright shiny things". To bring in more of the masses. Then in turn make more $$$. That is what they are in business for.

I'm still an Epic guy. And have been since '89. Have not bought any of the "new" bigger more expensive AT or AI. Save for one set of buildings. I've got all the GW I need or want. Especially with in my case, all the new good 6mm Sci-fi out there. Which could be generally said about any scale up to 28mm.

Id give up a nut to have Epic re-released new and shiny.

"I'm still an Epic guy. And have been since '89."

:-) Rarely play this since no one locally has armies, but great fun and colorful.

I've got almost every GW & FW models that had been released/or limited released for Epic since '89 … evil grin 6mm Sci-fi is all I do … old fart

I frequently post pics of my stuff on the 6mm Sci-fi board …

I sincerely miss those old plastic 6mm Land Raiders & Rhinos.

I'd be happy if they just re-released Marine forces for Horus Heresy Epic. I never got into the other armies anyway.
