I have some Howard Hues paints I would like to transfer to GW paint pots to keep from drying out.

Anyone know where I can get a hold of empty GW paint pots in the U.S.?

Sorry, should say I am looking for empty citadel paint pots.

I assume you mean whatever are the current style of Citadel paint pots? grin

Yes, I really like the flip top and the lip in the middle of the lid. Much less waste than squeezing paint out of a nozzle.

I am not finding that style on the market here.

There are the VALLEJO style dropper bottles, which are very good at preserving paint:

And generics of similar.

And the Folk Art craft paint types:

Wide mouth bottles are a bit harder to find:

Delta Ceramcoat also sells their bottle with a flip top lid.

You won't be able to buy new empty Citadel pots anywhere. Your only source will be empty used pots if you specifically want the domed top Citadel pots.

The old Citadel pots are used by P3, Foundry and Coat d'Arms: Scale Creep have them, as Mark states above.

Wait, what? The GW jars are reputationally infamous for drying out prematurely. There's hours of YouTube footage detailing how to transfer GW paints to other bottles. There's no other manufacturer with problems like GW has on this particular front.

Yup, the GW/Citadel are awful. I have a 2 month old pot of paint that I forgot to transfer and it was barely salvageable!

The Coat d'Arms jars are about 2/3 ounce to the brim.

I started an experiment to compare the waste from the two styles…

I keep all the dried paint I have to flake off the GW lids in an empty paper cup,
and the palates i use with dropper bottles…

So far, the dried paint from the GW style outmasses the dropper bottle style

I use GW, ceramcoat, Reaper, P3, etc

I am really confused.
You want to use GW pots to keep the paint you transfer into them from drying out?
Did I go through a black hole?

If you are wasting so much paint from a dropper my experience suggests your squeezing to much.
A drop on your pallet, or a drops worth out of a bottle on your pallet should really be the same.

I just dont understand the topic or reasons behind this discussion.
