How many people actually play these? they generated a lot of noise but they were pretty much D.O.A. around here. |

There have been 4-5 comps with them in OZ, and I think one is on soon in the UK. DB |

I hope to run at least demos at Historicon, maybe a tournament at Nashcon this year. |

Played a fair bit in Oz/NZ. Really good game. Corps size battles in about 3 hours. Lots of variety thanks to clever pre-battle/set-up system. Also works well for large scale (multi-corps) historical refights. Don't know what's wrong with the rest of the world but they are missing out! Martin |

I do not know these so wonder how they compare to Bataille Empire? Thanks |

They have been out for longer than Bataille Empire and are a second edition, meaning fewer issues with rules clarity/interpretation (it's all been asked/clarified before). More models than Bataille Empire (which IMHO is a bit anemic in appearance for a Napoleonic battle but I accept lazy painters may see this as a positive!) Probably a little more abstract than BE which, as I understand it, is designed as a game of battalions with an option to 'fudge it' and just say they are regiments without actually changing the rules at all. FOGN units are regiments/brigades. Martin |
