I am an occasional visitor to WWII sites, but very much enjoy my dips into this period. I am no great fan of Pinterest, Flickr etc as any captions must be taken with a huge pinch of salt, if indeed there is an information at all as to the image. Purely by chance I came across this series however and was amazed by the detail of research gone into every single photograph. Hope folk find this of as much interest as I did. link |

Nice catch there deadhead. Agree, well done with an amazing amount of information to accompany each photo. Thanks for the link. |

&!@ Pinterest is a blight on the internet, IMO. "Oh, look, a great WW2 phot I haven't seen. I sure would like some context for that…" At best you have to do a reverse image search. Thanks for the link! |

There is a Russian site "War Album", where Russian amateurs and professional historians are engaged in the attribution of photographs of the period of the Second World War. The joint work of specialists in history, weapons, uniforms often allows you to get a lot of different information from the photo. Unfortunately – only in Russian. But you can use the Google translator for reading. waralbum.ru |
