The London was a second-rate ship of the line built for the Protectorate navy in 1656, which exploded and sank off Southend in 1665. It's remains life just off Southend Pier close to a busy shipping lane, and the Nautical Archaeological Society is trying to raise awareness and money to preserve as much as possible of this very significant wreck. As part of this, they are holding a study day in Southend on 7th March, the anniversary of the ship's destruction. Details at link
