Progress on developing my collection of 1:700th French vessels continues with additions from the French fleet box from Warlord.
The additional personalised stern galleries and figureheads designed for the generic plastic hulls of the third and fifth rates really allows these models to look very individual.

Magnificent, but at that scale they need crews. |

Your usual immaculate work. |

Wow! Warlord should pay you a promotional fee. Close up the ships do seem to need crews but on the table they would disappear. |

Thanks for your comments chaps. Yes I have stuck crew on some of my earlier builds, but you're right Big Red, once you start getting a few of these models on the table, the eye can't take in that sort of detail, and I intend to get a few of these kits put together. |

Putting crew on these ships serves to make your opponent look closely and while you turn the other ship to be in range :-)) Good job Carojon, very nice paint work and good rigging. |

Thank you Julian. I don't think with the age and eyesight of the guys I play with, the prescience of 1:700th crewmen would repay the time putting the little chaps on. Your own work and models have been a great inspiration and I will be pouring over your version of Victory whilst flagging up mine with ‘England expects…..' later today. Cheers JJ |

Make sure the crew has at least one guy with a peg leg, and perhaps a parrot! And the captain is drinking sherry. OK, just kidding. I agree…the crew will disappear on a nice large table full of these ships! |
