So is anyone playing the rules from Mana Press? What do,you think of them? I have the rules, a gift from a friend, but I am really having a difficult time wrapping my head around the card play. |

I love them, a very elegant system. Try watching the videos on their web site. They helps a lot. Nic |

Neither of the videos talk through a turn. |

I have not heard of this game -- Primeval -- before, so thanks for the reference. Very interesting. Similar to the card game "War" but with figures and modifications. I like the use of click stands for counting wounds. Especially like the use of the actual cards for move distance. $36 USD is a bit pricey for pdf files. Do you need Tribal to play Primeval. I recently found my settlement game figures and watched 1 Million BC so could be in the mood for cave man game. The Primeval video seemed to explain play but not all the details about changing suites and weapon modifiers but did go through a turn. As I think about it, I could paint my cavemen and use them with the excellent Samurai Test of Honor rules which overlap these about 60% I have thought of using TOH with Vikings so why not cavemen? The terrain and figure in the video are very well done. Sparse but effective for what seems to be a charge-the-enemy-straight-ahead-and- fight-it-out game. |

Our local group has played several games of and its supplements. Best way to do a game as a learning exercise, just to get used to the mechanics. The card play is well thought out. and games ca be competitive or co-operative between players. |
