"Facsimile 1803 edn.,164pp., fully illus.with b/w figs., 16 colour uniform plates. 2019. With this first volume we begin the project of reprinting the drill book that was used by the French Army throughout the Napoleonic Wars. For this we are using the edition translated in 1803 by John Macdonald, and have re-worked the information to make it more accessible and useful (by combining the plates and text relevantly together). This is the first of the three parts of the original Reglement and covers the drill exercises taught to all new recruits. It is thus the basis of all company drill and manoeuvres. There will follow the School of the Platoon and the School of the Battalion."
