Anybody know who the historical consultant was? Or if there even was one?

I'm a big fan of Grant, but don't know if I could sit through another History channel show with all the commercials and constant hype. I think I'd rather watch again the very excellent documentary by Ken Burns on the Civil War.

Yes good idea, if I wasn't such a luddite. :-)

Actually I don't even have History channel; I've watched it at my Mom's house. She is always watching those WWII documentaries on a channel called AHC; some are quite good.
