Played a fun June 41 I Ain't Been Shot, Mum game in 6mm on Sunday. This game is part of the major tank battle around Verba and Dubno. This action is on June 29th, 1941. Parts of the 16th Pz Div's II Abt, 2 Pz Rgt and of II Abt 64 Schutzen Rgt are heading west and northwest to encircle the Soviet 34th Tank Div.
Soviets are dug in on a slope expecting some armor reinforcements in the form of T34 model 40s and KV1s. Lots of panzers moving across the table and Russian green tank crews getting flummoxed.

thumbs up 6mm is the best scale for this size game.

Nicely done. And can appreciate all the work that went into putting that game on.

Strikingly good.

What I appreciate mostly – well it's important in my mind – young folks playing (and maybe even being nurtured to one day carry on your interest in historical gaming)!

I agree, Flywire. I really am glad that we can get a group of under 30s gaming and wanting to do historicals. I believe when given a chance to game on a decent table and use rules that reflect a real conflict in a way that is more than IgoUgo, roll your dice…, new players will be happy to have a go. What is even nicer is that they are building terrain and painting minis because they appreciate the stimulation and comradeship of fellow historical gamers. And they want to exceed the standards that are too common among their scifi/fantasy playing peers. This is true for some that are into the more commercial games. They want something more.

Fantastic!

We're trying to do the same here in St. Louis, but it's a slog. There's one little guy named Henry, who comes up for the family gaming day held on the same Saturday when we game, a family gaming event sponsored by his Dad & Mom. He always comes over to our miniatures tables to visit – of course I call out to him "Oh Henry" – and seeing him scanning over our boards with those intense little eyes makes my day!

I've got him in a game or two over the past year, but he's usually pulled back for the family stuff.

Anyway, lead on Sir!
