Absolutely fabulous. That is one of my very favorite episodes of the Little Big Horn campaign. I have been up there countless times, On several occasions I even camped up thee with horses and other cavalry re-enactors on re-rides following Custer's trail. What is so astounding is the historical accuracy of his work. Of course, the painting he used as a guide helped. But his Indians look like Crow and Arikara are supposed to look. I can easily identify Bloody Knife, Varnum, Reynolds and so on. Of course Custer. His background photos are the real deal too. Thanks Armand. Probably my favorite of your finds. Tom |
