Hi there. This is my first post on TMP. About 5 months ago I (not before time) became obsessed with the Dixon American Civil War range and since then have been working on a Confederate force. I love the diversity of these characterful figs and the fact that every man in my collection is different. Up first is a unit from the 28th North Carolina. I'll be posting more in the near future. Thanks for looking.

Nice job- they do have a LOT of character. Both because of the sculpt and your excellent paint job. I also like the standing pose, and the size 18 model unit. |

Amazing work! Can you share your color palette? I have often wanted to get some of these but am a bit worried that they are true 25mm and noticeably smaller than Sash & Saber or Perry. Are they really that much smaller? |

Thanks very much Chairtwosqueaky. I'll probably be sticking to an 18 model unit. The other unit I've painted so far which I'll post up soon is also the same amount. |

Thanks very much ccmatty! No problem, I use citadel paints and the greys consist of Russ Grey for the blue-grey shade and Fenrisian Grey and Celestra Grey for the lighter ones. Rakarth Flesh and Stormvermin Fur are also used. I dont have any Perry or Sash and Saber to compare but Dixon seem to be more closer to 28mm looking at it. |

Cheers Frederick. It's great the way that the Dixon sculpts show a varied age range in their faces. |

Fantastic painting and real character in the faces. However, I personally feel that they are a bit squat and out of atomical proportion. Perhaps it's optical. Best wishes, Chris |

Nope. Dixon figures are like that. Less obvious in cavalry. Brilliant sculpts with great detail but they do have that Hobbit look. They are wargame figures. That is the argument. To be gazed upon from on high. At that angle they look superb and many other makers work on the same principle. No doubt, their heads and hands are massive. Gnomes basically. As one who has never thrown dice in anger, I seek figures for, in order, photography, posting, display in the study, relocation to the attic (where I now have several hundred figures). Their Bushwhacker range (mounted, with famous personalities) is simply superb. Pick and choose with this range. They can be brilliant |

Thanks a lot Chris! Yes it's a matter of taste when it comes to Dixon I feel. Personally that cartoony look really appeals to me. |

Deadhead, yes I agree that Bushwhacker range looks superb. Don't have any yet but I'm thinking that'll be something I include in my next order. Bloody Bill Anderson and Quantrill look brilliant from the pic I've seen on the Dixon website. |
